HD DVD's with dynamicHD web connectivity

Terminator 2 and Grönemeyer HD DVD's to be released with dynamicHD web connectivity

Berlin - The first wave of web-enabled HD DVD’s using the dynamicHD technology was revealed at the press conference of the HD DVD Forum at IFA today. The impressive lineup of Hollywood blockbuster, music and local releases of the leading German content owners gave a convincing forecast on what will hit the streets this year with Imagion’s new dynamicHD technology, that allows settop-players connected to the internet to update, unlock and download content hosted on special servers.  

Music Top-Hit will be EMI’s live DVD release “12” of Germany’s Superstar Herbert Grönemeyer, exclusively available in a 3-disc Edition containing 2 DVD’s and a HD DVD with nearly identical content in High Definition. Announced dynamicHD features will include news, tourdates and a discography, along with alternative mixes provided for download plus an innovative  “share playlist” function that will allow users to share their favorite setlist with others via the www.tunehd.net community. In addition, in “Your voice against poverty”, users can contribute to Herbert Grönemeyer’s dedication directly from the dynamicHD interface.

Movie-Top Hit will be the long-awaited HD DVD release of Terminator 2. As presented at the official HD DVD Promotion Group’s press conference at IFA, the title will be having a breathtaking set of innovative features on HD DVD. Among them a “script-to-scene”-feature showing script, storyboard and the movie directly connected on the screen. Users can scroll through the script - storyboard and movie are automatically synced. T2 will also include a “goof-mode” where the film can be watched with all the goofs made visible through text-information, zooms and special symbols. Apart from these two groundbreaking features, the disc will feature much more bonus making this HD DVD once more one of the “must-haves” - like the DVD release. The dynamicHD interface will give access to even more downloadable content, including up-to-date trailers from Kinowelt and access to a Terminator 2 Ultimate HD DVD community.
